Divine Mission,Divine Location and Divine Attitude

Divine Mission

Gen 24:2 And Abraham said unto his servant, the elder of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh.
Gen 24:3 And I will make thee swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou wilt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.
Gen 24:4 But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Isaac.

The servant here probably Eliezer, the trusted servant of Abraham demonstrates well here the purpose and mission of the Holy Spirit, sent by GOD to earth to seek out the Church for JESUS CHRIST Son of GOD. The Church then is not like, or of the world but is called out and separated unto the LORD.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

In addition, every believer is commanded by the LORD to remain separate unto Him being holy " touch no unclean thing." The inference is clearly the need to resist and reject unequally yoked relationships that renders a believer unholy since he has touched the unclean thing.

2Co 6:14Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Reflecting on this great truth, I am amazed at the number of believers that violate this command unawares that they have become unclean.

Divine Location

Gen 24:10 And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master, and departed, having all goodly things of his master's in his hand. And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
Gen 24:11 And he made the camels to kneel down without the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.

The well is the centered source of all life for the Town of Nahor, without the well the there is no water, no water no life. How well the location pictures the role of the Holy Spirit, the wellspring of life, sent by GOD to give life to the Church so that the Church can well up in overflow to water all of humanity that thirsts for life.
The meeting at the well in Samaria was a divine mission and location( John 4). The woman like Rebecca came out to draw water, drawn by the Holy Spirit. JESUS said to her at one point "
Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Joh 4:14 but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.

The water that Rebecca drew and offered to the servant resulted in the fulfillment fo GOD's promise to Abraham that his descendants would be numerous like the sand on the seashore.
The receiving of the water of life by the Samaritan woman led to the whole village of Samaria coming to receive and find eternal life.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, immediately resulted with an additional 3,000 new believers who now number over 2 1/2 billion alive and those who have gone on to be with the LORD are like the number of the sand on the seashore.
Every member of the Church must walk in obedience to the command of Matthew 28:18-20, so that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit can continue to draw and separate people from out of the unclean world.

Divine Attitude

Gen 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her. And she went down to the fountain, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Gen 24:17 And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Give me to drink, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher.
Gen 24:18 And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
Gen 24:19 And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
Gen 24:20 And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.

What an attitude demonstrated by Rebecca, so unlke the attitude of most today that would be hesitant and reluctant even to extend kindness and service even to a stranger. The Church is to be recognized by the world for LOVE. The first spiritual gift is love, the first and greatest commandent is to lOVE GOD and the second greatest commandent is to lOVE our neighbors.
The attitude of the virgin Mary was one of quiet, reverent, waiting and expectancy for the chance to be the one chosen to carry the Holy seed. At her divine location, her attitude came out in her words "And Mary said, Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. (Luke 1:38)

Our attitudes concerning our divine mission and location must be examined and reexamined until we are sure that no false motives or behaviors stand in the way of GOD's Divine Purpose for our lives.

Rebecca further emphasized this point when she had to declare her inward revelation that all that was happening around her was set and appointed by GOD for her and His purpose. She declared when asked if she would go with the stranger " And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go. (Gen 24:58)

I believe that many believers miss GOD's perfect for their life simply because they do not recognize GOD's hand in their life, situations and circumstances

Understanding And Resolving Fear In Our Life

Evangelist Rev. Albert E. Cattouse

Fear began in the Garden of Eden.

Gen 3:9 And Jehovah God called unto the man, and said unto him, where art thou?

Gen 3:10 and he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked (exposed, no longer Holy, there is darkness in me); and I hid myself.

This behavior of our parents was a result of:

1. Sin and guilt (conscience awakening)

2. The broken trust and love relationship between man and GOD

3. The new spirit (evil) that entered them when they chose to obey the King of darkness rather than the Spirit of Light (Holy Spirit) and truth.

So fear is the controlling influence of the Kingdom of darkness that is associated with sin, rebellion and death, which is over the minds and hearts of the Human race.

                        Abraham out of fear for his life lied about Sarah his wife;

Gen 12:11  “And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

And it will come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say, this is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.

Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister; that it may be well with me for thy sake, and that my soul may live because of thee.”

                    The prophet Elijah ran away from the woman Jezebel and contemplated suicide;

1Ki 19:1 “And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

Then Jezebel send a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to-morrow about this time.

And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.”

B. GOD’s plan to help the human race to overcome fear

Fear continued throughout the millennia of human existence as a result of the reign of the kingdom of darkness (Satan and his demon forces).

1. He assures us of his presence.

2. He demonstrates his presence.

Joshua 1:1 “Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, to you have I given it, as I spake unto Moses.

From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee; I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Be strong and of good courage; for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest.”

3. GOD sent His Son JESUS CHRIST to break the bond or influence of sin and death, the source of fear.

As you study the Gospels, you will come repeatedly to these words from JESUS, “Fear not, fear not, and fear not….”

John 6:18 “And the sea was rising by reason of a great wind that blew.

When therefore they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the boat: and they were afraid.

But he saith unto them, it is I; be not afraid.”

4. GOD has established a new covenant through the sacrifice of the Body and blood of JESUS CHRIST.

a. In this new covenant he has given us a new heart.

b. In this new covenant he has given us a new spirit.

c. In this new covenant he has given us the Holy Spirit.

Here is a very important thing to know about GOD.

GOD is love:

1Jn 4:16 and we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love; and he that abideth in love abideth in God and God abideth in him.

Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Whenever you begin to sense and be paralyzed with fear, know that this is not from GOD it is a part of your old self and the influence of the Kingdom of darkness.

2Timothy 1:7 “For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline,

Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;”

Remember Joshua, GOD told him to be strong and courageous, but we have a better covenant than Joshua, because GOD took away the spirit of fear from us and filled us with power through the Holy Spirit, He is in us and therefore he fills us with His essence LOVE, so that we can be disciplined in our Christian walk, each day becoming more and more like JESUS CHRIST.

Finally, fear is a seed of doubt, a seed planted in our mind by our archenemy Satan.

Then that seed of fear causes us to doubt GOD’s power, His love and His control in the affairs of our lives. Then we begin to take matters into our own hands.

The New Year

On the dawn of the new year, a new president will in a few weeks be inaugurated in the United States. Nothwithstanding, the promise of change this new U.S. President represent, somethings will remain unchanged until JESUS CHRIST returns to earth.

The struggle between the Nation of Israel and factions in and outside  the Palestinian Liberation organization have been magnified and has escalated in the last few weeks. Of a certainty, the challenge to an author of a peace treaty for the region beckons to world diplomats. Throughout the millennias, many have come forward with plans for Middle East Regional peace but up to 2009 there has not been peace in the Middle East and there will not be until.....

Dan 9:27 "And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one that maketh desolate; and even unto the full end, and that determined, shall wrath be poured out upon the desolate."

The time is fast approaching and is now here for the real author of Middle East peace to come forth and astonish the world with his brand of Diplomacy. The real author is the Anti-Christ. The stage is set......
